Objectively Examining the Multitude of Issues Surrounding Migration and Border Security.

Vision
The International Centre for Migration and Border Security Studies seeks to globally connect current and former migration and border security practitioners that have higher research or postgraduate degrees, together with applied migration and border security scholars, with the aim of advancing research, scholarship and teaching specific to migration and border security.
Focus
Migration
The many issues surrounding migration control, refugee protection, immigration integrity, and enforcement have come to the forefront of public and political discourse. How nations select and settle newcomers, process and support refugee claimants, along with identifying, arresting, detaining, and removing unlawful non-citizens all have significant human rights implications. Researchers with the International Centre for Migration and Border Security seek to identify global best practices in relation to migration management, control, and enforcement –– their ultimate aim being to advance human rights, peace, public safety, and security.
Border Security
In today's globalised world, it is of central importance that the transnational movement of people and goods is managed in most expedient, economical, and secure means possible. Border security personnel must be highly effective, well trained, and adaptable. Likewise, border security technologies must be capable of rapidly identifying threats, facilitating trade and commerce, while also supporting domestic national security efforts. The International Centre for Migration and Border Security seeks to support nations in their efforts to achieve optimised border security through the development of specialised educational programmes and research focused on the development of highly effective border security technologies.
